During the COVID-19 pandemic, Claudio’s pivoted to the digital sphere, launching an online store to ensure customers could continue to access their premium products despite movement restrictions. While the initial website met the immediate demands of the pandemic, it became clear that a more sophisticated and user-friendly solution was required to cater to both customer expectations and operational needs. I was brought on board to completely redesign and redevelop the site, using a custom Shopify theme to deliver a streamlined, optimised, and visually engaging eCommerce experience.
The redesigned Claudio’s Seafood website deploys an aesthetic that promotes the colours and vibrancy of the products allowing the fresh produce to shine whilst modernising Claudios digital presence with colours stripped back to their brand and neutral colour scheme. The design was carefully crafted to engage visitors visually while maintaining a focus on usability. Every element, from typography to imagery, was chosen to evoke a sense of freshness and trustworthiness. Responsiveness was a key priority, ensuring the site performs seamlessly across all devices, be it desktop, tablet, or mobile, delivering a consistent and engaging user experience.
To meet the specific needs of Claudio’s Seafood, a bespoke Shopify theme was developed, avoiding reliance on generic templates or unnecessary plugins. This tailored approach ensured the site remained lightweight and fast-loading, critical for maintaining customer satisfaction. The custom theme also included a dynamic filtering system, allowing customers to easily browse and add products, select product options and manage their basket as simply as possible. The result was a shopping experience designed specifically for Claudio’s unique product range and customer preferences.
